Safety & Crisis Support
If you are thinking about suicide or hurting yourself, please reach out now. In the United States, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, free, 24/7) or text HOME to 741741 (Crisis Text Line). If you are in immediate danger, call 911. Outside the US, call your local emergency number (112 in the EU) or find a free helpline at findahelpline.com.
Marmalaid is an AI, not a crisis service
Marmalaid is an AI Personal Agent. It is not a therapist, a doctor or an emergency service, and it cannot call emergency services for you. It always tells you it is an AI, and it says so whenever you ask.
Our crisis protocol
If something you write to Marmalaid suggests thoughts of suicide or self-harm, on any channel you use it on:
- You get crisis resources straight away. Marmalaid sends the numbers above in a separate message before it replies, so they reach you even if the rest of the conversation goes wrong.
- Marmalaid stops the task and stays with you. It takes what you said seriously, asks whether you are safe right now, and encourages you to reach a crisis line. It does not change the subject or end the conversation.
- Marmalaid never gives information that could help someone hurt themselves.
- No one reads your messages because of this. We keep a count of how many times crisis resources were sent, without the content of what you wrote, so we can report it where the law requires.
If you have stopped messages on a channel (by replying STOP), crisis resources still reach you when you write to Marmalaid.
For everyone in your life
If you are worried about someone else, the same lines can help you support them: call or text 988 in the US, or visit findahelpline.com.
Reaching a person at Marmalaid
Ask for a person in the chat during business hours (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm Pacific), or email hello@marmalaid.ai. This is not an emergency line — in an emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number.
